Container Farm :40 ft Vegetable Container Farm Hydroponic Barley Fodder Programme

Container Farm :40 ft Vegetable Container Farm Hydroponic Barley Fodder Programme

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Hydroponic Barley Fodder is one of the faster-turning crops in the container: 7 - 8 days from transplant, 2,800 - 3,500 kg per cycle and 45 - 52 cycles a year. The insulated envelope and fresh-air system stop summer heat and winter cold from interrupting the rhythm.

The ISO 40 ft footprint ships on a standard flatbed and sets with a forklift or spreader; the site needs only a hardstanding, power and water.

Produces roughly 400 - 500 kg of fresh fodder per day, enough to supplement about 320 sheep or 40 cattle.

Schools use the unit as a working laboratory: students follow Hydroponic Barley Fodder across its 7 - 8-day cycle, measuring light, EC and plant weight to understand how a plant factory works.

KEY ADVANTAGES

· Controlled cycle: Hydroponic Barley Fodder reaches harvest 7 - 8 days after transplant, more than 50% faster than open-field production.

· 45 - 52 cycles a year keep the same unit producing continuously without a seasonal break.

· Rotation and zoning reduce disease pressure and chemical inputs.

· Rated Easy in difficulty and run from process cards, the crop is workable by general staff.

· Per-tier LED recipes give more uniform leaf colour, plant shape and head weight.

· Batch records of temperature, EC, pH and light trace each harvest back to a specific tier.

· The closed hydroponic loop uses far less water than soil culture, which suits water-scarce sites.

· The unit can be shared with other leafy varieties on a weekly rotation for a more flexible product mix.

CLIMATE AND CONTROL

The unit uses a standard 40 ft shell with about five growing tiers, hydroponic or aeroponic depending on variety. Insulation, fresh air, dehumidification and LED lighting form a closed environment: outside climate affects energy use, not the crop.

Nutrient solution runs from the tank through pumps and manifolds to each tier and returns via filtration, disinfection and inline monitoring. EC and pH are corrected automatically against the recipe, removing manual mixing drift.

CULTIVATION AND SCHEDULING

After harvest the room is cleaned and sanitised and the return line flushed, with downtime held under a day so the 45 - 52-cycle annual plan is not eroded.

The standard schedule assumes a 40 ft unit with about five tiers: plant one batch and harvest one batch each week, giving 45 - 52 Hydroponic Barley Fodder cycles a year. Adjust to order structure and harvest labour.

DELIVERY, TRAINING AND SERVICE

The unit transports and relocates as a standard container, so a lease expiry or site change does not strand the capital.

Crop changes and expansion include recipe support, covering cycle validation and density recommendations for new varieties.
